Natural Remedies: Cuts & Bruises

Home Remedies: always clean thoroughly and use antibiotic ointment and hydrogen peroxide or iodine.
§  ECHINACEA: Drink 3-4 cups of Echinacea tea to speed the healing process
§  VITAMINS: Increase vitamins/minerals zinc, B6, C, and E in order to speed healing process and minimize scarring.  Vitamin E oil mixed with zinc oxide cream should also be placed on the cut.
§  HONEY: Honey has antibacterial and antioxidant properties which will help heal the wound quickly.  Spread honey over the wound to speed up the process.
§  ALOE VERA: While aloe is usually used on burns, it can also be very useful to sooth and heal cuts.
§  WHITE VINEGAR: combine 1 tablespoon of vinegar to 1 cup of water.  Apply to wound to clean the wound as well as soak off scabs without picking at it.

Bruises

Home Remedies: always clean thoroughly and use antibiotic ointment and hydrogen peroxide or iodine.
§  ICE & HEAT PACKS: For the first day, ice the bruise to reduce swelling and pain.  In the days following, apply heat packs to dilate blood vessels and increase circulation – thereby speeding up the healing process.
§  APPLE CIDER VINEGAR: Soak or rub a cold concoction of apple cider vinegar and water on the bruise.
§  PARSLEY: crush parsley and rub against bruise.  Parsley is full of vitamins and aids in therapeutic healing.
§  WITCH HAZEL: Witch hazel is full of anti-inflammatory and antiseptic attributes which allows it to promote healing and reduce pain & swelling.  Rub witch hazel directly on bruise in order to gain the benefits.
